Saigon High-tech Park attracts more than 10 billion USD of FDI capital

As of November 2023, the Saigon High-tech Park currently has 160 valid projects, including 70 high-tech manufacturing projects, with an occupancy rate of more than 85% of land planned for high-tech multi-field activities.


 
According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi, Head of the City High-Tech Park Management Board. In Ho Chi Minh City, there are 70 high-tech production projects, including 29 foreign investment projects (FDI), 41 domestic projects; 18 High-Tech service projects; 21 research and implementation (R&D) projects; 9 training and incubation projects; 23 High-Tech supporting industry projects; 9 commercial and service projects; 10 infrastructure development projects.
 
Total foreign direct investment (FDI) including newly granted and adjusted capital increases is 10.163 billion USD/50 projects (average investment capital is 203 million USD/1 project)
 
Total domestic investment capital is equivalent to 2.097 billion USD/110 projects (average investment capital is 19.1 million USD/1 project).
 
Disbursement of realized investment capital of enterprises reached 5.585 billion USD, accounting for 46.4%.
 
From the numbers, it shows that the number of FDI projects is less than half of the number of domestic projects but the investment capital is 5 times higher (10.163 billion USD/2.097 billion USD).
 
In the coming period, the High-Tech Park aims to contribute to improving Vietnam's technological capacity through research, training, and commercialization of projects, rather than focusing on attracting manufacturing projects. exports to contribute to export turnover, create jobs... such as export processing zones - industrial parks.

At the same time, attract a number of exploratory projects from foreign investors to form Vietnamese IC design groups to strengthen the IC ecosystem in the zone.
