Hitachi Company has completed the construction and installation of equipment at the 110kV Binh Thai substation (Thu Duc city). The Contractor has coordinated with the relevant units to conduct necessary tests and give standard results to be ready to energize and put into operation. It is expected that in the next few days, the Fire and Rescue Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) will check for the last time to energize at the transformer station. Binh Thai substation (Thu Duc city) and Tan Cang (Binh Thanh district) are two transformer stations that are responsible for receiving electricity for the whole metro line No. 1. Previously, Hitachi Company also carried out the examination. construction of the power supply system on the line to connect power from two transformer stations. According to the design, the No. 1 metro train runs on electricity through an overhead electrical system. This electrical contacting system plays the role of providing direct power to the train through the contact between the live wire and the power picker mounted on the roof of the train.
This is also considered an advanced and popular technology in the world to provide safe and high-performance electricity for trains. Metro Line 1 has a total investment of 43,700 billion VND, nearly 19.7km long with 3 underground stations and 11 elevated stations. Up to now, the project has reached more than 83% of the total volume. The work is expected to be put into commercial operation in 2022.
