With the C4IR Center, Ho Chi Minh City sends initial financial human resources and promotes the role of pioneering enterprises to participate, contributing to the overall development of the city and the region.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also said that there are 10 initial founding members of C4IR, including Ho Chi Minh City National University, Viettel, Sovico, HD Bank, Techcombank... "HCMC is committed to allocating available resources, founding enterprises, establishing an action framework and regulations, quickly putting the center into operation, and coordinating with WEF to have the first activities," said Mr. Phan Van Mai.
The Ho Chi Minh City C4IR Center is one of the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Government of Vietnam and WEF for the period 2023-2026.
This is the second C4IR Center in Southeast Asia after Malaysia, joining the WEF's global network of 4th Industrial Revolution Centers.
C4IR will be a place for research cooperation, policy proposals, resource mobilization, and technology transfer in the field of industrial transformation.
C4IR is located in Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, forming technology ecosystems in line with the trend of the 4th industrial revolution, including the fields of semiconductor technology, biotechnology, new materials, drones, artificial intelligence, IoT....
C4IR is a unit under the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, operating under an autonomous mechanism similar to an enterprise. C4IR's organization operates with three main pillars: leadership, operation, and support blocks.
The leadership team includes a management board with representatives from three parties: Government, enterprises and universities. This board has the participation of large enterprises with the role of leading and implementing innovation initiatives in key industries.
