Celebrating 50 years since the city of Saigon – Gia Dinh was honored to be named after President Ho Chi Minh (July 2, 1976 – July 2, 2026)

July 2nd, 2026 marks a special historical milestone, signifying the 50th anniversary of the official renaming of Saigon – Gia Dinh City to Ho Chi Minh City, as stipulated in a resolution of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This is not only a great honor and source of pride for the people of Ho Chi Minh City, but also a sacred symbol of the boundless gratitude and respect of the entire nation for President Ho Chi Minh.

Building upon the achievements of the past 50 years, the people of Ho Chi Minh City are determined to successfully achieve development goals; to build the city into a smart city, a center of economy, finance, services, science and technology, and innovation.
The 50th anniversary of the official renaming of Saigon - Gia Dinh City to Ho Chi Minh City is not only an opportunity to look back on the glorious journey but also a reminder and motivation for each citizen of the city to continue to uphold the tradition of patriotism, solidarity, dynamism, creativity, and compassion; working together to build Ho Chi Minh City into an increasingly prosperous, civilized, and modern city, contributing to the realization of the nation's aspiration to build a strong, prosperous, and happy Vietnam in the new era of national development.
All staff and employees at the SCS building are determined to unite, promote the spirit of solidarity and hard work, and join hands in building an increasingly prosperous, civilized, and sustainably developed society.
