The Ministry of Health has allowed Ho Chi Minh City to pilot the reduction of the concentrated isolation period to 7 days for asymptomatic F0 who received two doses of the vaccine and tested negative on the 7th day.
This is the response of the Ministry of Health on December 14, after the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health suggested that the city pilot shorten the period of concentrated isolation to 7 days. This proposal was made by the health sector of Ho Chi Minh City on November 18, in order to reduce the load on concentrated isolation areas, increase the efficiency of F0 care and treatment, in the context of the number of new cases in the districts tends to increase slightly. Accordingly, this shortening is suitable for the epidemic situation and vaccine coverage in the city.

According to the Ministry of Health, this pilot is based on the level of the epidemic and the response capacity of the city's health sector, when the epidemic situation in Ho Chi Minh City is still complicated.
When the isolation period at the treatment facility is over, the patient will continue to self-monitor or medically isolate at home for the next 7 days, notify the local health department for coordination in supervision. During this time, temperature should be taken twice a day. If the body temperature is higher than 38 degrees Celsius in two consecutive measurements or there are any abnormal signs of health, notify the local health care provider for timely examination and treatment. Comply with 5K, limit direct contact with others when monitoring at home, especially people in risk groups.
In order to adapt to the Covid-19 situation in the new period, the city continues the option of isolating F0 at home if eligible or moving into a concentrated isolation area in the district if not eligible. Symptomatic cases will be transferred to the Covid-19 treatment hospital (2nd and 3rd floors).
