On the morning of August 6, the High-Tech Business Incubator at the Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP-IC), in collaboration with Ascendas Systems and Block71 Saigon, organized a seminar titled "Smart Manufacturing Revolution: Integrating AI and Robotics to Optimize Production."
The seminar aimed to showcase the practical application of automation, AI, and digital twin solutions in manufacturing, with the goal of enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and optimizing processes for domestic enterprises.
Technologies introduced included industrial robotics, real-time data-driven predictive maintenance, digital twins, and AI-based decision-support systems. These are key components in shaping a smart, sustainable manufacturing ecosystem ready for the digital future.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Quach Anh Sen, Deputy Director of SHTP-IC, stated that smart manufacturing represents not only a technological revolution but also a vital strategy for enhancing competitiveness, adaptability, and sustainable growth in the new era.
Solutions such as flexible automation, AI for quality control and production forecasting, and the application of IoT and big data are opening up breakthrough opportunities for both large enterprises and small-to-medium-sized factories in Vietnam.
According to Mr. Sen, many startups incubated at SHTP-IC have been developing core technology solutions—ranging from AI-powered machine vision systems and smart navigation robots to digital production management platforms—that can be directly applied to production lines.
However, for these solutions to be widely adopted, strong connections must be forged among manufacturing enterprises, technology startups, researchers, investors, and regulatory bodies.

"The seminar serves as a platform for establishing viable models of cooperation, piloting, and technology transfer that directly address the digital transformation needs of the domestic manufacturing sector. We will continue to build bridges and support technology enterprises—especially startups—in accessing the manufacturing market, while also partnering with manufacturers to identify, test, and implement advanced, effective solutions," Mr. Sen said.
Mr. Tran Thanh Nghiep, Director of the Smart Manufacturing Solutions Center at TMA Solutions, stated that the company's experts have developed over 100 technology solutions—categorized into eight groups—to support smart manufacturing operations.
One such solution involves AI-powered cameras that monitor whether workers are wearing protective gear upon entering the factory or if they are straying into hazardous areas. This measure aims to ensure workplace discipline and safety within manufacturing enterprises.
TMA Solutions experts have also developed AI cameras for security and safety purposes, capable of detecting incidents such as altercations, fires, security breaches, and theft within the factory.
"AI enables cameras to recognize and alert managers to abnormal situations, eliminating the need for constant monitoring associated with standard cameras," Mr. Nghiep said.
