Hi-tech park attracts 12 billion USD, labor productivity is 17 times higher than the whole country

In 2021, the high-tech park in Ho Chi Minh City has created a production value of up to 20.9 billion USD, higher than the total budget revenue of the city (about 17 billion USD).

In operation since 2002, from the primitive land of Thu Duc district (now Thu Duc city) located on the Hanoi Highway, Saigon Hi-tech Park is the high-tech park attracting the most investment capital in Vietnam. 3 high-tech zones of the country.


After 20 years, the hi-tech park now has 160 projects with a total investment of 12 billion USD. In which, there are 51 FDI projects with total investment capital of more than 10.1 billion USD and 111 domestic projects with total investment capital of nearly 2 billion USD.


The production value of the whole area so far has reached 120 billion USD, in 2021 it will reach 20.9 billion USD (accounting for nearly 52% of Ho Chi Minh City's export turnover) and with positive results so far, is expected. Export turnover of the zone reached 23 billion USD this year. 


This place attracts the world's leading manufacturing corporations such as Intel (USA), Nidec (Japan), Samsung (Korea) and leading technology enterprises in Vietnam.
Pictured is the Samsung factory. With a total investment capital of 2 billion USD, this is the largest project in the high-tech park. The factory covers an area of ​​nearly 1 square kilometer, mainly producing televisions and some other electronic devices. Average productivity is 1.1 million products/month.

As of June 30, 2022, the total number of employees of the hi-tech park is 51,910 people, including 51,340 domestic workers and 570 foreign workers. The average labor productivity of this area is 17 times higher than the national average.
 

The High-Tech Park Incubator (SHTP-IC) organizes training and supports many potential startups. The Incubator Building with a cost of 72 billion VND, started construction in 2017 with the goal of reaching an incubation capacity of 50 incubation projects/year and about 100 startup projects/year. 


The high-tech park has many new development opportunities and requirements to become a center of knowledge economy. Many famous training institutions and universities are located here such as HUFLIT University of Foreign Languages, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, etc. In the picture is Vietjet Aviation Academy (formerly the training center of Vietnam Airlines). The high-tech park is located near the intersection of major highways, has a prime location when it is 15 km from the city center, nearly 3 km from the National University, 18 km from Tan Son Nhat international airport and nearly 15 km from Cat Lai port. . In the picture is Phu Huu bridge, connecting the high-tech park with Vo Chi Cong street. 


In early 2022, the metro station in the north of the high-tech zone to connect to the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line was started construction. Once completed, the move from District 1 to the high-tech park is expected to take only 10 minutes. 


According to the plan, the high-tech park is located in the creative and highly interactive urban area in the east of the city with a population of 1 million people, becoming the nucleus of the city's 4th industrial revolution.
