Starting July 1, Metro line No. 1 Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien, nearly 20 km long, is expected to welcome passengers from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day.
Specifically, according to the plan of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board, Metro Line 1 is expected to operate 7 3-car trains. After that, the unit will operate 12 3-car trains in the next period in 2024. Next, from January 1, 2025, the line will operate all trains according to the original design. According to the design, each 3-car train will carry about 900 passengers, including seats and standing seats.
According to the new exploitation plan expected to be implemented, Metro line No. 1 will start running at 5:00 a.m. and end at 10:00 p.m. People in Ho Chi Minh City will take trains to existing stations, with an interval of 8-10 minutes per train.
Next, from October to December 31, Metro Line 1 will operate 12 3-car trains on weekdays. Each train is spaced about 6-8 minutes during rush hours and normal hours. Train time runs from 5:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. When the entire line is operated as planned from the first day of 2025, every day Metro No. 1 operates 15 trains from 5:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Particularly on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and Tet, Metro No. 1 operates 9 trains at the same time. The interval time during peak hours is 4.5 minutes/trip and during normal hours is 8 minutes/trip.
It is known that Metro Line 1 has 3 underground stations: Ben Thanh station, Ho Chi Minh City Opera House, Ba Son station and 11 elevated stations: Van Thanh, Tan Cang, Thao Dien, An Phu, Rach Chiec, Phuoc Long, Binh Thai, Thu Duc, High-Tech Park, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Suoi Tien Bus Station.
Currently, the project has completed the final items of the project and recently, the official operation timeline of the train is receiving a lot of attention from people. Meanwhile, trains are still running without passengers every day.
