Sharing her joy with reporters when witnessing metro train No. 1 having just been tested on the entire route, Ms. Pham Thi Thu Thao, a technician driving metro train No. 1, said she had just completed the intermediate train driving course. of Railway College. “I am very honored and proud to be a passenger on the first metro line of the city. When metro No. 1 officially serves passengers, I will be able to operate and control the city's first metro line" - Ms. Thao said.

Sharing about her plan to learn to drive a metro train, Ms. Thao said she is the only female train driver and also the class president of this class. According to Ms. Thao, the whole class has now completed the training program and received their diploma. It is expected that from September, 11 students will go to Japan for in-depth training, technology transfer and training classes.
“After three years of suspension of study due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, now I am very confident if I can participate in driving metro line No. 1. Because during the study process, we have practiced and practiced driving. land and also sat in the driver's seat. Our class is one of the first courses in train driver training, so the upcoming course in Japan will be an opportunity for us to improve and make more efforts. We will try to learn to improve the quality and service for passengers in the future" - Ms. Thao said.

Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Phuong, station management student of metro line 1, said that the station management class has now been trained and is ready to serve metro line 1 when it comes into operation. “I am looking forward to the trial operation of metro line No. 1, which is also the basis for the line to be commercially operated in the near future. When metro line No. 1 operates, it will contribute to protecting the environment, becoming a green, modern means of transportation and contributing to solving traffic congestion in the city" - Ms. Phuong said.

Sending students to Japan for training in September
Mr. Le Minh Triet, Director of HURC1 Company, said that the trial operation of the entire metro line from Ben Thanh to Suoi Tien marked an important milestone of the project. Currently, the company is focusing on coordinating with MAUR to organize training for operation and maintenance staff. For operational training, the train driving force has completed basic training. In September 2023, this force will be sent for direct training in Japan before officially operating in Vietnam.

According to Mr. Triet, station chiefs and dispatchers serving metro line 1 are also being trained. After that, the company will also send this force to Japan for training and skills training before implementing management organization at the station. In addition, HURC1 Company is also recruiting 291 station staff to serve in charge of safety and ticket checking.
“In addition, in September, we will recruit train maintenance and repair forces to transfer technology between contractors and the company to be ready to deploy, operate, and maintain the line. metro number 1 in the near future" - Mr. Triet said.

In particular, the company is also coordinating with MAUR and other departments and branches in building legal framework regulations to prepare for operation, such as ticket policies, public passenger transport management by bus, etc. urban railway, regulations on coordination with fire protection forces at stations on the line and especially underground stations... "All work has been prepared in advance, some tasks have also been completed, some number is being implemented. We deploy synchronously to complete the project on schedule, ensuring exploitation in 2024" - Mr. Triet emphasized.
