Ho Chi Minh City cooperates with US enterprises to improve electronic and IC design capabilities
On the morning of May 30, Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) and Cadence Design Systems (CDNS, USA) signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in developing design human resources in the field of electronics and promoting developing the semiconductor chip industry in Vietnam.
Representatives of Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park and Cadence Design Systems signed a memorandum of cooperation.
Cadence is a world leader in electronic systems design, with over 30 years of experience in computational software. With this cooperation, Cadence can provide IC (IC) design software tools and related training programs to universities in Ho Chi Minh City through the Cadence academic network. These are universities that have strengths in science and technology and want to join in developing a team of talented people to serve the IC design industry. The goal of the partnership is to help students gain hands-on experience in IC design and testing, and learn how to solve technical problems during IC design, PCB (printed circuit board) design and Complete processes in IC design and manufacture.
Nguyen Anh Thi, Head of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park, said that with the commitment from Cadence, this cooperation will create opportunities for students to access the latest technology and methods in IC design. and system design; Accumulate practical experience to achieve success in the field of electronics and microchips. The cooperation also enhances the capacity of the IC Design Training Center of the High-Tech Park (SCDC), contributing to the development of the semiconductor IC industry for Ho Chi Minh City.
Michael Shih, Vice President of Business for Asia-Pacific and Japan of Cadence, shared that Cadence cooperates with Hi-Tech Park and universities to support human resource development in the region. electronic design field in Vietnam. By providing access to Cadence software, the company hopes to equip the future generation of engineers with the necessary skills to contribute to the development of high technology in Vietnam.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung said that foreign businesses and partners highly appreciate the development potential in Vietnam, in which the youth, dynamism and creativity. of Vietnamese people is an opportunity for the parties to cooperate. The fact that SHTP focuses on training human resources for IC design is a very right direction, thereby developing high-quality human resources to supply industries in the coming time.
With the same comment, according to Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc, the city is a potential destination for foreign investors, including electronics and microchips. Currently, the global supply chain is shifting, so SHTP needs to be proactive about high-quality human resources, ready to attract investment in developing the field of electronics and semiconductors.
After the signing ceremony, the delegates visited the Circuit Design Training Center of the Hi-Tech Park; visit and learn about the operation of the International Electronic Training Center (IETC), the first international standard model in Vietnam, located in the City Hi-Tech Park.
