Sharing information at a press conference providing information on the socio-economic situation of Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of November 21, the Urban Railway Management Board said that after a period of efforts, focusing all resources to implement key tasks, resolving difficulties and obstacles of the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro Line No. 1 Project, up to this point, the project has completed 100% of the construction volume. It is known that the project is in the process of carrying out procedures according to regulations to complete and put the project into commercial operation, expected to officially start from December 22, 2024.
From now until the official start of operation, the Urban Railway Management Board and the Urban Railway One Member Co., Ltd. will actively coordinate in the process of preparing for the operation and exploitation of the No. 1 urban railway line, including: Coordinating the implementation of the Plan to deploy tasks to effectively operate and exploit the No. 1 urban railway line in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien line such as: Training, acceptance, handover, trial operation...; advising on the approval of the Pilot Project to exploit some urban railway infrastructure assets of the City.
Last week, the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro Line No. 1 was tested at 100% of its design capacity as a commercial operation. The trial operation has 47 scenarios, from normal operation to emergency situations such as fire, explosion, power outage...
From November 11 to 17, Metro Line 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien will be tested at 100% of its design capacity with 14 trains (plus 3 reserve trains), with train intervals from 5 minutes 30 seconds to 10 minutes. Notably, the trains will run the same as in future commercial operations.
Metro Line 1 will operate from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. every day to serve people's travel needs.
