Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board said that Metro Line 1 has officially been put into trial operation, after a period of theoretical and practical training for Vietnamese employees (belonging to HURC1 Company).
The operation will include 47 scenarios, from normal operations to emergency situations such as fire, explosion, power outage, flooding, signal loss, at different locations throughout Metro Line 1 (including in the tunnel).
Before the trial operation, the HCMC Urban Railway Management Board has completed the signing of agreements with the contractor Hitachi and construction contractors on the use of training and trial operation equipment.
In particular, the trains will run the same as in the future commercial operation, with the interval between trains being 4 minutes and 30 seconds/trip.
Operating staff from all positions will be mobilized, including: train drivers, dispatchers at the control center, staff at the stations, etc. A total of 71 people will conduct the trial operation in each shift. It is expected that there will be 2 shifts per day.
In addition to the trial operation, the BVT system safety assessment consultants (a joint venture of Bureau Veritas of France and TEDI of Vietnam) will closely monitor and evaluate the proficiency of Vietnamese staff in emergency situations.
Mr. Phan Cong Bang - Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board - said that to ensure the set progress target, the Urban Railway Management Board has launched a peak competition "50 days and nights to complete the project".
The Urban Railway Management Board and HURC1 Company coordinated with consultants and contractors of Metro Line 1 to make efforts to speed up the progress, handle difficulties and obstacles, and focus on the highest goal of putting Metro Line 1 into official operation by the end of 2024.
