On October 8, Google hosted the "Rising Together with Google AI" forum in Ho Chi Minh City to showcase the results of the AI Riser Vietnam 2026 initiative. Launched nationwide, the program aims to encourage the development of AI applications that address real-world needs.
Launched in August, AI Riser 2026 attracted over 10,000 participants—both in-person and online—through a series of 10 networking and hands-on events held in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.
The program received 750 projects developed on the Google AI Studio platform, supported by 32 expert judges and 12 partner organizations.
From these entries, the organizers selected 10 projects to showcase at "Demo Day," spanning 10 priority sectors such as digital safety, economic empowerment, and education.
Notably, Google’s AI Riser initiative is not limited to professional developers; it also extends to students, educators, creators, and small business owners. Using Gemini models and Google AI Studio, participants can describe their ideas using natural language to build and test application prototypes.

Whether it is a teacher preparing ready-to-print learning materials in minutes or an engineer designing an independent mobility aid for the visually impaired, the creativity demonstrated across 750 entries proves that Vietnamese talent can effectively transform natural language logic into practical, community-oriented solutions.
Among the ten projects showcased at the Demo Day event on October 8, three were selected by the audience: "ĐÚNG NƠI" by Bành Thị Ngọc Trúc, "Project InnoVerse" by Nguyễn Minh Hoàng, and "SightBridge AI" by Phạm Văn Mạnh.
Notably, the "ĐÚNG NƠI" project—developed by a practicing physician—received high praise for helping citizens navigate the administrative complexities associated with medical care. The tool utilizes AI to assist patients and their families in checking health insurance benefits, co-payment rates, and referral regulations, thereby enabling them to proactively estimate costs before visiting a hospital.
Dr. Bành Thị Ngọc Trúc, the project representative, stated that "ĐÚNG NƠI" was created with the aim of providing maximum clarity and convenience for families regarding health insurance.
According to Mr. Marc Woo, Country Director of Google Vietnam, the development of 750 projects demonstrates the ability to transform technology into solutions that address specific needs.
Highlighting the importance of collaboration in building digital capabilities, Mr. Đỗ Tiến Thịnh—Deputy Director of the National Innovation Center (Ministry of Planning and Investment)—noted that empowering the workforce and the younger generation to master digital tools is crucial for socio-economic development.
"When global technology pioneers partner with local organizations and talent, we witness the rapid transformation of AI from abstract concepts into tangible applications that practically serve classrooms, small businesses, and citizens across the country," Mr. Thịnh shared. In addition to AI Riser, Google stated that collaborative programs with government agencies, organizations, and associations in Vietnam have enabled over 100,000 people to access technology training ranging from foundational to advanced levels.
This training initiative complements application development efforts, building a workforce capable of utilizing and leveraging technology tools in real-world scenarios.
