Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park facilitates business access to direct power purchase mechanisms and renewable energy.
The Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park is encouraging enterprises to access the Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA) mechanism and renewable energy solutions, thereby supporting the green transition, reducing emissions, and enhancing competitiveness within the global supply chain.
On September 25, the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park, in collaboration with VinaCapital Corporate Finance Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Schneider Electric Vietnam Co., Ltd., organized a seminar titled "Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA) & Renewable Energy for Enterprises in the Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park."

The discussion and Q&A session helped businesses clarify practical issues regarding the implementation of the Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA) mechanism.
The event was held at FPT Software Co., Ltd., attended by representatives from state regulatory agencies and the power sector, as well as experts and numerous enterprises operating within the Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park.
Updates on the DPPA mechanism and green energy solutions
The seminar provided updates on the DPPA mechanism, renewable energy development policies, and solutions to assist businesses in their green transition as Vietnam works toward its Net Zero emissions goal by 2050.
Additionally, the program served as a forum for dialogue among regulators, experts, and the business community regarding the international market's increasingly stringent requirements concerning emissions reduction, ESG standards, and the use of clean energy within global supply chains.

The seminar attracted representatives from regulatory agencies, experts, and the business community operating within the Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park.

According to the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park (SHTP), the energy transition is becoming a decisive factor in the competitiveness of high-tech enterprises. By providing updates on the Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA) mechanism and strengthening connections between businesses and energy solution providers, the Hi-Tech Park aims to support enterprises on their journey to reduce emissions, meet international standards, and integrate more deeply into global supply chains.
Focusing on implementation conditions and practical business needs
At the seminar, delegates were updated on the latest regulations regarding the DPPA mechanism under the 2024 Electricity Law and relevant guiding documents.
Specifically, discussions focused on participation criteria, electricity pricing mechanisms, contract models, smart energy management solutions, and roadmaps for implementing renewable energy within enterprises.
Additionally, experts shared practical experiences in applying green energy solutions and optimizing operations to enhance energy efficiency.
Towards a green, smart manufacturing ecosystem
In line with Ho Chi Minh City’s sustainable development strategy—which integrates digital transformation with the Net Zero goal—the Hi-Tech Park identifies improved access to cost-competitive clean energy as a key solution to help enterprises reduce emissions, strengthen competitiveness, and meet the increasingly rigorous demands of global supply chain partners.
The seminar focused on discussing the Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA) mechanism and renewable energy solutions for enterprises within the Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park.
Through this event, the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Park reaffirmed its commitment to supporting enterprises in their energy transition by connecting resources related to technology, finance, and infrastructure; simultaneously, it advocated for the refinement of mechanisms and policies to facilitate the implementation of renewable energy projects within the park.
The ultimate goal is to build a green, smart, and highly competitive manufacturing ecosystem that contributes significantly to the sustainable development of Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam.
