Associate Professor, Dr. Le Quoc Cuong, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, said that in the digital age, when artificial intelligence (AI), 5G network, and IoT (Internet of Things) are leading the industrial revolution 4.0, drones are not only a technical tool, but are gradually becoming a strategic platform, opening up new spaces for STEM education, defense, precision agriculture, logistics, and smart cities.
Globally, the drone/UAV industry is growing strongly and is the focus of investment for many countries. Vietnam cannot stay out of this race.
“We must set a higher goal: not only to keep up, but also to create our own identity, rise to master technology, and lead the market in advantageous segments,” Associate Professor, Dr. Le Quoc Cuong emphasized.
Associate Professor, Dr. Le Quoc Cuong, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, spoke at the workshop.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Le Quoc Cuong, the key to realizing this is "developing a comprehensive ecosystem - focusing on education and training - closely connecting the State - schools - businesses - innovation community".
Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park clearly identifies its pioneering role in building a smart and sustainable drone/UAV technology ecosystem.
From innovative startups such as Gremsy, RealtimeRobotics, to practical training cooperation programs with universities and research institutes, all are placed in a long-term strategy, with the vision: Turning the High-Tech Park into the leading center for testing, innovating, and commercializing drone/UAV technology in Southeast Asia.
At the workshop, experts, scientists... focused on discussing and exchanging contents related to the public-private-school cooperation model in drone/UAV training; implementing the drone/UAV training program framework from basic education, general education to vocational training and university; the core role of Incubators in connecting and transferring resources... According to Mr. Bui Quoc Anh, Director of the Data Center, Ho Chi Minh City National University, DroneSoccer (a new technology sport, combining drone control and team tactics) can be integrated into the main curriculum, combining technology and sports, creating a multi-dimensional learning experience.
experts present their papers at the workshop.
This is a modern sport, combining technology and motor skills, not only helping students learn how to control Drones but also developing tactical thinking, creativity and effective teamwork skills.
The workshop aims to build a smart drone/UAV training ecosystem associated with practical needs, promoting educational innovation, developing high-tech human resources, enhancing interdisciplinary cooperation in research, training, and technology transfer.
On this occasion, delegates attending the workshop visited and experienced the DroneSoccer competition demonstration model performed by students of Nguyen Du Secondary School; simulated training and farm Drones performed by students of Nguyen Van Be Secondary School in the High-Tech Business Incubator campus.
