Continuing the program of working with ambassadors of other countries and representatives of foreign investors in Vietnam to support and remove difficulties for the business community in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic, on the afternoon of September 9, at At the headquarters of the Government, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a working session with the ambassador, the head of the delegation of the European Union (EU), the ambassadors of the EU countries, the European Business Association (Eurocham) and some European corporations and enterprises in Vietnam. The meeting was combined directly and online between the head office of the Government, provinces and cities of Vietnam and in some European countries. Attending the meeting, on the Vietnamese side, there were representatives of leaders from 13 ministries, branches and 7 provinces and cities.
In a sincere atmosphere, the Prime Minister highly appreciated the practical and effective contributions of the European Union delegation, the embassies of EU countries in Vietnam, the Business Association and the EU business community to the development of the EU. developing Vietnam - EU relations, especially cooperation in economy - trade - investment; at the same time, thank the EU and its member countries for their commitment to donate more than 10 million doses of vaccines and medical equipment to Vietnam. The Prime Minister affirmed that the Vietnamese Government is always ready to create favorable conditions and accompany EU enterprises to invest and do business in Vietnam; encourage and expect EU countries to support and create conditions for Vietnamese businesses to invest in the areas that the EU has needs, step by step create balance and long-term cooperation, mutually beneficial in terms of investment and trade.
The Prime Minister expressed his sharing and sympathy with the difficulties of businesses in Vietnam in the face of complicated developments of the COVID-19 epidemic; affirming that the success of foreign investors is the success of Vietnam, the loss and disadvantage of foreign investors is also the loss and disadvantage of Vietnam. The Prime Minister emphasized that these are only temporary difficulties, the Government of Vietnam is trying to implement many solutions to control and repel the epidemic; established a special working group to handle problems and difficulties of businesses and issued Resolution 105 on September 9, 2021 on supporting businesses, cooperatives and business households in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic. -19; and at the same time directing the development of an economic recovery plan to safely adapt to the epidemic both in the short term and in the long term.

In the spirit of openness, sincerity, construction and high responsibility, the ambassadors and leading representatives of a number of EU businesses highly appreciated the organization of a meeting to discuss measures to solve difficulties. problems in maintaining supply chains, transporting and circulating goods, organizing production, granting work permits and entry for experts, administering vaccines, etc. At the same time, I agree with the Prime Minister's assessment that the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic is unprecedented, requiring measures appropriate to the situation, both doing and adjusting; Emphasizing that the Government of Vietnam's measures to prevent and control the epidemic, ensure production and safe circulation, are in the right direction, however, it is expected that the implementation in localities should be more flexible, efficient and smooth. , handle more timely situations arising at the facility.
Right at the meeting, the Prime Minister directly answered and directed ministries, branches and localities to answer and immediately handle legitimate reflections, recommendations and proposals of businesses. In which, many issues have been and are being solved by the Vietnamese side, especially under Resolution No. 105 just issued by the Government; Ministries and branches will concretize to soon organize the implementation; Localities and businesses will also be more proactive in applying anti-epidemic solutions.
The Prime Minister affirmed that it is necessary to ensure the maintenance of production, supply chain and circulation of goods in addition to epidemic prevention measures in line with reality; In the coming time, it will promote the development of the pharmaceutical industry and strengthen the medical capacity to protect the people's health. The Prime Minister has directed the ministers of the relevant ministries and branches and the chairpersons of the People's Committees of the localities to immediately handle difficulties and problems, provide specific, unified instructions and create favorable conditions for businesses to implement the plan of organizing the organization. Production organization in the spirit of production must be safe, safe to produce. Localities must actively review and simplify administrative procedures, not promulgate regulations that are inconsistent with the Government's general direction on maintaining and not disrupting supply chains.
Before the proposal of some businesses about vaccines, the Prime Minister affirmed the policy of free vaccination for people, including specific instructions on establishing contact points and vaccinating for foreigners residing in Vietnam. residing in Vietnam; giving priority to vaccination for workers in industrial parks, export processing zones, high-tech parks, working in supply chains at enterprises, including EU enterprises. The Prime Minister suggested that the EU ambassadors and business community in Vietnam continue to contribute to promoting the development of Vietnam - EU relations to new heights; promote the National Assembly and Government of EU countries to ratify the EVIPA Agreement as soon as possible; continue to support vaccines, transfer technology to produce vaccines and therapeutic drugs to Vietnam.
At the same time, continue to closely coordinate with ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam to implement epidemic prevention and control measures; took many initiatives, actively overcome the impact of the epidemic, and maintained production and business activities. Continue to push the European Commission (EC) to soon remove the IUU "yellow card" for Vietnam. Support and create conditions for the Vietnamese community in EU countries to study, work and live. Emphasizing the viewpoint of harmonizing benefits and sharing risks between the parties, the Prime Minister affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will continue to listen to the spirit of market demand and responsibility to the proposals and recommendations of EU businesses and enterprises. ready to respond under conditions permitting; what has been done must be done better, when there is no radical solution, choose the best solution among possible solutions.
EU ambassadors and businesses expressed their sympathy and thanks to the Government, ministries, sectors and localities for continuing to accompany and share with businesses to overcome the current difficult period; Vietnam is still an attractive investment destination with strong development potential in the coming time; affirmed the desire to continue promoting and further developing long-term investment and business activities in Vietnam.
