Ho Chi Minh City and Intel cooperate in AI human resource training

Ho Chi Minh City and Intel Corporation cooperate in training human resources in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), focusing on cadres, civil servants, and those who have worked and are about to work in the city.
This information was given at a meeting between Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, and Ms. Sarah Kemp, Vice President of Global International Government Relations of Intel Corporation, which took place on the afternoon of July 8, reported VNA.

Here, the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City shared the city's development vision. After merging with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces, Ho Chi Minh City will have a larger development space and stronger regional connectivity; becoming the leading center of economic growth, innovation, logistics and finance in Vietnam and the region. This contributes to opening up a space and room for cooperation and development between Ho Chi Minh City and its partners, especially in advantageous fields such as high technology, education, clean energy, healthcare, etc.
Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc hopes that Intel Corporation will expand its investment in the city, including training high-tech engineers and human resources in the fields of artificial intelligence and semiconductor chips. Intel Vietnam and the High-Tech Park (SHTP) are studying to reach a specific agreement on cooperation in the field of human resource training in the field of AI to meet practical requirements and soon have specific measurable products. Along with that is the desire for Intel Corporation to replicate the success of Intel Vietnam and introduce more investors in the high-tech sector to invest and do business in the city.
Ms. Sarah Kemp expressed optimism about the tariff agreement between the US and Vietnam, in which she hopes that semiconductor products and high-tech products will be included in the group of products exempted or preferential tariffs between the two countries. She shared that Intel Vietnam is ready to coordinate in training staff in applying AI in their work as well as training those who are working and about to work on the necessary skills in the field of AI.
In addition, Intel Corporation wishes and is ready to accompany and support the city in developing transport infrastructure and cooperating in investment in the field of renewable energy.
After nearly 20 years of presence in Vietnam, Intel Vietnam has exported more than 4 billion products, contributing more than 100 billion USD to Vietnam's exports. Currently, Intel Vietnam is continuing to apply the group's new technologies in its products. In the past 3 months, the group has started producing 18A chip products; contributing to helping Vietnam have the opportunity to access new technologies, improving the quality of human resources in this field.
