Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City: 'Preparing for a tighter situation than Directive 16'

At the meeting, agreeing with the opinion of the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said that the city needs to calculate a plan to apply stronger measures for some too specific areas.

"Faced with the epidemic situation, the Prime Minister has directed the Ministry of Health to give the city maximum priority," said the Deputy Prime Minister, and affirmed that if the vaccine comes again, the Government will also give priority for the city.
Previously, Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Truong Son said that the Ministry of Health and other ministries and branches monitor and evaluate the organization of epidemic prevention and control in the city. The health sector highly appreciates the city's efforts when implementing Directive 16 and measures as epidemiological surveillance, zoning, and blockade to control the epidemic.
"The epidemic is complicated and unpredictable. The city's epidemic peak three days ago reached about 5,000 cases, but in the past three days, it has decreased to more than 3,000. There are no positive signs, however, in the next ten days, the city must apply to take drastic measures," Son said and hoped the epidemic would decrease in the next 7-10 days when 19 southern provinces and cities apply maximum distance according to Directive 16.
