From July 8, two field hospitals in District 7 and Binh Chanh district with a total size of nearly 6,000 beds invested by a private unit are rushing to be built and put into use. These are the first two newly built hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City. The field hospitals currently being treated are all requisitioned and renovated from old medical facilities, dormitories, resettlement areas...
At the field hospital on Dao Tri Street (District 7), the work has reached about 40% of the progress, is expected to operate in early August. By design, this place has nearly 2,400 beds, built on the land and the factory of about 3 hectares of a company.
In particular, the factory area (on the right) is being renovated as a place to treat infections. Next to the workshop is a construction site with rows of field houses, with a capacity of about 1,500 beds.

The building located at the entrance, which used to be the company's office, is now used as a place to operate and rest for doctors and hospital medical staff.

By noon on July 16, two blocks of houses had finished pouring concrete on the floor, made the frame, and completed the roof. A total of 21 blocks with more than 400 workers are building continuously from morning to night to hand over in time.

Each row of houses is divided into many small rooms designed with insulated corrugated iron partitions. Each row has 14 rooms; one room is 36 m2 and has four field beds of Covid-19 cases.

In other blocks, many workers and machinery urgently erected iron and steel frames. According to the construction supervisor, the completion of the frame requires the highest accuracy because it affects the structure of the hospital.\

Mr. Hanh was equipped with anti-drop glasses, wearing them throughout the construction period. "It's a bit suffocating to wear these glasses in hot weather, but to be safe, everyone has to hurry to finish the field hospital soon, reducing the pressure on the city's health," the 26-year-old male worker said.

In the remaining area, workers with cranes, excavators, rollers are doing the stages of leveling, compacting, pouring concrete... before erecting the house frame. According to the construction unit, when the project is almost finished, it will basically conduct electricity and water connection and transport medical supplies to the hospital.

Another area has completed the camps, placed hundreds of beds for workers to stay at the construction site to prevent epidemics. In the coming time, the investor will mobilize more workers to ensure timely progress.

More than 10 km away, the Binh Chanh field hospital project with a scale of 3,500 beds is under construction on an area of 5.6 hectares in Binh Hung commune (Binh Chanh district), currently reaching about 17% the progress.

The project is in the process of leveling the ground for foundation work with nearly 200 construction workers day and night. The building is used for the treatment and isolation of people infected or suspected of being infected with nCoV.

According to the plan, this place will put into operation 1,200 beds by the end of August. In September, the remaining 2,300 beds will be completing.
