Speaking at the opening of the session, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that the first session took place in the context of the complicated developments of the COVDI-19 epidemic in some localities, with a large workload, the content was exhausted. The National Assembly Chairman emphasized: Today, the National Assembly continues to promote a high sense of responsibility, close to the people, respect the people, seek a market, listen to the people's opinions, stick to reality, and bring "the breath of life" living" into the National Assembly, a plan to help the 15th National Assembly continue to innovate, improve quality and efficiency.

According to the program, on the first meeting day, the National Assembly will listen to the summary report on the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term and the results of the confirmation of the deputies' status XV National Assembly.

This session has 499 National Assembly deputies convened, but at the press conference before the session, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Office of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong said that some delegates had to carry out their work. local epidemic prevention, or had contact with F0, so 17 delegates were absent.

To date, 435/499 delegates have been vaccinated. Service forces, press offices, and areas where delegates stay are also vaccinated.

According to the program, this afternoon, delegates will vote by secret ballot to elect the Chairman of the XV National Assembly. Then, the President of the 15th National Assembly will take the oath of office in a ceremony broadcast live on television and radio. The National Assembly will also hear and discuss the expected number of vice chairmen and members of the National Assembly Standing Committee. After that, the National Assembly Standing Committee will present a list of nominees for the National Assembly to elect the Secretary General of the National Assembly, the Chairman of the Ethnic Council, the Chairman of the Committees of the National Assembly and the State Auditor General.

Taking place in the context that provinces and cities are straining against the COVID-19 epidemic, the first session of the 15th National Assembly shortened the meeting time compared to the original plan, only taking place from July 20 to July 31.

 

This session will consolidate 50 titles, according to the law, including all titles of the National Assembly and the Government. In particular, on the Government side, the National Assembly will elect the Prime Minister, approve the appointment of 4 deputy prime ministers, 22 ministers and branch heads.

 

During the session, the National Assembly will also listen to, discuss and pass resolutions on the law- and ordinance making program in 2022, adjusting the law-and-ordinance formulation program in 2021; socio-economic development plan, state budget in the first 6 months and solutions to implement the socio-economic development plan and the state budget in the last 6 months of 2021; 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021-2025; the national financial plan, the 5-year plan for borrowing and repaying public debt in the 2021-2025 period; medium-term public investment plan for the period of 2021-2025...
