"Directive 10 does not have an end time, so the city still applies it to tighten epidemic prevention measures," Mr. Duc said. Since mid-June, Mr. Duc has been assigned by Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong to direct all issues related to Covid-19 prevention in Ho Chi Minh City.
Previously, from June 20, Ho Chi Minh City social distancing according to Directive 10 (of the City People's Committee) had a number of epidemic prevention measures similar to the content of Directive 16, in the context of many cases and outbreaks. The source of the infection is unknown. In which, non-essential business services and spontaneous markets must stop operating. People do not gather more than 3 people in public places, outside of offices, schools, hospitals and comply with the 5K rule of the Ministry of Health.
In addition, Ho Chi Minh City requires people to keep a minimum distance of 1.5 m in public places; strengthen the strict handling of violations in the prevention and control of Covid-19. State establishments and units must strictly comply with the regulations on distance in the working process. Enterprises minimize face-to-face work but switch to online, employees only come to the headquarters when necessary. Units stop unnecessary meetings, hold only really important meetings, gathering no more than 10 people in one room, as permitted by local authorities.
At the meeting of Ho Chi Minh City's Anti-Covid-19 Steering Committee on June 25, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong said that the city has undergone 2 rounds of social distancing and the second phase will end on June 25 30/6. Therefore, he requested departments and districts to re-evaluate the implementation of the solutions of Directive 10 and propose more drastic solutions in the coming days.
"Each unit must re-evaluate, which considers how the inspection and implementation of the city's epidemic prevention regulations have been over time? Is it necessary to continue social distancing after June 30?" Mr. Phong said that the city must carefully consider the situation before making a decision.
Today, Ho Chi Minh City recorded 218 more Covid-19 cases, of which 11 cases are unknown, bringing the total number of cases in the city to 3,463. The city is ranked second in terms of the total number of cases in the 4th outbreak, just behind Bac Giang (5,663 cases). At a meeting of the Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control on the morning of June 28, Director of Health Department Nguyen Tan Binh said that the epidemic situation was still complicated. The number of infections in the community also increased through symptomatic cases coming to medical examination and treatment facilities (increased by 32-42 cases). These are the case studies from which to trace the outbreaks in the hostels, production facilities, wholesale markets...
Ho Chi Minh City has divided districts into 3 risk groups to come up with solutions to prevent epidemics. In particular, the very high-risk group includes: Binh Tan, Hoc Mon, Binh Chanh, District 8, Tan Phu and part of Thu Duc City (former Thu Duc district). These are areas where the number of infections is high and rapidly increasing, with many outbreaks of high infection rate, unknown source.
