An Phu intersection, National Highway 50, and the route connecting Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa are 3 of 10 major projects to be started by the city next year, helping to reduce congestion and increase regional connectivity.
The information was informed by Mr. Luong Minh Phuc, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (TCIP - investor), on the afternoon of December 30th, in the plan to deploy infrastructure projects Key traffic floors in the city in 2022.
An Phu intersection in Thu Duc City - the intersection between three major traffic axes including Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, Mai Chi Tho Boulevard and Luong Dinh Cua Street. This intersection construction project was approved by Ho Chi Minh City in April, with a total capital of 3,926 billion VND. The 3-storey project includes: a 2-way underground tunnel connecting the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway through the Mai Chi Tho route (on the side of the Thu Thiem tunnel), extending through the Mai Chi Tho - Dong Van Cong intersection. The project to expand National Highway 50, the section through Binh Chanh district, has a total investment of nearly 1,500 billion VND, including more than 687 billion VND from the central government, the rest from the budget of Ho Chi Minh City. The work is implemented on a section nearly 7 km long, expanded to 34 m, in which it is divided into two sections: the first part is more than 4.3 km long to build a new road parallel to National Highway 50, the other part is longer than 2,5 km widening the existing road.
The road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa (Tan Binh district), with an investment of 4,800 billion VND, is expected to start construction in the second quarter of next year. The project was approved for investment by the city in early December, to synchronously connect T3 terminal of Tan Son Nhat airport when it is put into operation. The route is 4 km long, making the main route 25-48 m wide for 6 lanes, with a speed of 50 km/h. The project also makes two branch roads connecting through the main route; build a viaduct and two underpasses at the intersection of Phan Thuc Duyen - Tran Quoc Hoan and the intersection of Truong Chinh - Tan Ky Tan Quy.

Along with the above work, according to TCIP leaders, in 2022 at Tan Son Nhat gateway will start two other projects including expanding Hoang Hoa Tham street and improving Cong Hoa street. "The completed works to help synchronously connect T3 terminal will contribute to reducing congestion at Tan Son Nhat airport, completing infrastructure in Tan Binh district...", Mr. Phuc said.
In addition to the above works, 5 other traffic projects will be started by the investor next year, including: expanding Tan Ky - Tan Quy road (Binh Tan district); expanding and upgrading Tran Van Muoi street; Town - Thoi Tam Thon street (Hoc Mon district); building Rach Kinh bridge (Cu Chi district); embankment to prevent river bank erosion in Giong Ong To bridge area (Thu Duc city).
Along with the plan to start new projects, TCIP said it will coordinate with local authorities and related parties to accelerate site clearance to restart projects such as Tang Long and Long Kieng bridges... Dong At the same time, this unit also said that in 2022 it will invest in completing all projects such as the new Bung bridge (Binh Tan, Tan Phu); Nuoc Den road and canal (Binh Tan district); construction of technical infrastructure for 9 land lots in Thu Thiem area (Thu Duc city)...
