In the first 8 days of operation, the first metro line of Ho Chi Minh City served more than 900,000 passengers, the peak was on December 29 with 201,000 passengers.
The data was collected by Urban Line One Member Company Limited No. 1 (HURC1 - the operator) from December 22 to 29 - the first 8 days of operation of the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line.
During that time, the metro ran more than 1,560 trips, serving about 908,000 passengers, an average of more than 113,500 passengers per day. Of which, the peak was on Saturday and Sunday (December 28-29), the total number of passengers was recorded at about 175,000 and nearly 201,000 passengers. The number of passengers has tripled the transport plan initially calculated by the operator (an average of about 39,000 passengers per day). Since it is currently free of charge, most passengers are on the experience, and one person can take several trips per day. In recent days, passengers on the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro have not needed to use any tickets but have been guided by station staff and routed through the control gate to board the train. The number of passengers on the experience is very large, and some stations are overloaded during rush hour. HURC1 Company is mobilizing its maximum staff and a team of collaborators to guide and support passengers on the metro.
