MAUR representative emphasized that this is an important event marking the completion of the construction of metro line 1 and its official operation to serve the city's people. The project aims to successfully implement the city's 5-year socio-economic development goals and tasks (2020 - 2025), making practical achievements to welcome the 12th City Party Congress, towards the 14th National Congress, and at the same time celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

From 10am on December 22, people can go to all 14 stations of metro line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro) without prior registration. The city offers free tickets for 30 days (from December 22 to January 20, 2025) for all metro users.

MAUR representative said that passengers using personal vehicles can park their vehicles at parking lots near metro line 1 stations such as Van Thanh Park, Thao Dien, Rach Chiec, Phuoc Long, Binh Thai, Suoi Tien Bus Station... Tomorrow morning (December 23), 17 bus routes connecting to metro line 1 stations will also officially open to welcome people on the first metro line of Ho Chi Minh City.
People traveling on the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro can use the pedestrian bridges at the stations: Tan Cang, Thao Dien, An Phu, Rach Chiec, Phuoc Long, Binh Thai, Thu Duc, High-Tech Park and National University to safely and conveniently access the utility works along Vo Nguyen Giap Street and Hanoi Highway.
Along with the feeder bus routes, the Public Transport Management Center has coordinated with Tri Nam Group Joint Stock Company to rearrange 45 public bicycle stations in District 1, arranged around underground metro stations and equipped with more vehicles to increase convenience for passengers. In the area of ​​3 underground stations, four-wheeled electric vehicles will operate flexibly in terms of routes and times, based on people's needs to reduce travel costs. Ticket prices in this area range from 5,000 - 10,000 VND/trip.
According to the Public Transport Management Center, when the metro officially operates, passengers can view information on the Go!Bus app, using the automatic payment system. Passengers can use EMV cards issued by Mastercard to take the metro. Passengers who do not have a card will be issued an anonymous or identified card (if registered) to scan the card at the ticket gates at the stations to take the train.
Currently, people can go to metro stations to make a card. The card will be issued free of charge for people to use on December 22 for train travel. After this time, customers in need will top up their accounts to take the train. In addition, HURC1 Company (the operator of Metro Line 1) is continuing to diversify card issuance channels via mobile applications, increasing card issuance points and improving features for people to conveniently use the metro (ID card, citizen ID). People can use this card to travel on 17 bus routes connected to the metro. In the first 6 months, Metro Line 1 will open at 5:00 a.m. and close at 10:00 p.m. every day, with regular intervals of 8-12 minutes/trip. After the first 6 months, Metro Line 1 will run until 11:30 p.m. with regular frequencies of 5-10-15 minutes/trip (corresponding to the time frames: peak/normal/off-peak).
