Ministry of Health: No need to measure blood pressure for all people who come to get COVID-19 vaccine
On September 10, 2021, the Ministry of Health issued temporary guidance on pre-vaccination screening for COVID-19 vaccine. This Decision takes effect from September 10 and annuls Decision 3802/QD-BYT dated August 10, 2021 of the Ministry of Health on promulgating temporary guidance on pre-vaccination screening for COVID-19 vaccine. 19.
According to the Ministry of Health, screening aims to detect and classify subjects eligible for vaccination against COVID-19 to ensure vaccination safety. Regarding clinical examination before vaccination, in this Decision, the Ministry of Health regulates temperature measurement for all people who come for injection; measuring blood pressure for people with a history of hypertension / low blood pressure, people with underlying diseases related to cardiovascular disease, people over 65 years old; measuring pulse, counting breaths in people with a history of heart failure or finding abnormalities such as chest pain, shortness of breath... This is a change compared to measuring blood pressure for all people who come to inject as in Decision 3802 /QD-BYT before.

After screening, the groups of subjects assigned to be vaccinated include: Indication of immediate vaccination for those eligible for vaccination; Defer vaccination for cases where at least one factor necessitates delay in vaccination; Transfer the injection to a medical facility capable of providing emergency anaphylaxis for cases with a history of grade 3 anaphylaxis with any cause; Pregnant women ≥ 13 weeks after being explained the risks/benefits, if they agree to be vaccinated, need to be transferred to a hospital for vaccination and monitoring at a medical facility capable of obstetric emergency; Vaccination is not indicated for those with contraindications to vaccination. Vaccinated subjects will be examined, if they are eligible for vaccination, they will be consulted and signed a written consent to vaccination. The pre-vaccination screening form and the written commitment to consent to vaccination are kept at the vaccination organization for 15 days.
